Into the smoker! It’s gonna be good!!
This year we’re spending Thanksgiving with some old friends! We’ve known James since highschool (he was even a groomsman at our wedding). He went to college in MI, where he met his future wife, Debbie.  They have two of the CUTEST kids!

And everyone wants to hold Xander –

(You know this baby must be amazing when Josh willingly puts down the iPod and asks to hold him!)

She says she wants a baby too — but I imagine serious jealousy issues if her “baby” title was taken away.

They head back home tomorrow – we’re all going to be sad to see them go! Its been fun showing them around our area and hanging out, watching kids play together.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Burt’s Visit

What a great time we had!! It was even like a mini vacation for me – Katrina and John played with the kids pretty much nonstop, grandma wouldn’t let me lift a finger and  cleaned up the kitchen after every meal (and made her amazing chicken and dumplings, along with her banana pudding!).
Aunt Katrina gave Abby a bead loom and the girl is HOOKED!  (I’ll have to do a separate post showing all of her bead work!)
Uncle John surprised the kids with a trip to Chuck E Cheese — you know they had a blast!!!!
Goodbye was so hard!!! For 11 LONG months we waited for this and in a flash it was over. 😦

ToT 2014

Due to my surgery our night was short, but probably my favorite Halloween thus far. I said yes to the scary costumes, yes to the face makeup. I put away my camera and just enjoyed the night. M took us to the perfect neighborhood in Clemson. J cut corners or bypassed the walkways – flying straight across the yard, giggling the whole way. My heart exploded every time Lydia walked up to the door, “Trick or treat” in that sweet, sweet voice.
